HUNGRY FOR HEAVEN
based on 1 Peter 2:4-12
1. As strangers and aliens
in a foreign land
We battle the enemy of
our soul.
The carnal desires seek
to take our hand
And lead us away from
our goal.
2. We are building-blocks
for the kingdom of God
The cornerstone is Christ
alone.
You’ve chosen us,
Lord, a royal priesthood
A people You claim for
Your own.
CHORUS
We’re hungry for heaven and thirsty for love.
But none can satisfy like our Father above.
Though lost in exile and away from our home,
You call us Beloved. You call us Your own
3. You’ve called
us from darkness to Your marvelous light,
We sing Your praises,
O Most High.
You’ve shown us
Your mercy long into the night
And now we send up our
cry. [CHORUS]
BRIDGE
The Stone which the builders
rejected
Becomes the Way we’re
being perfected. [CHORUS]
